The Challenge

Verizon partnered with Crown + Conquer to build brand presence and engagement at high-profile music festivals (Suenos in Chicago, Gov Ball in NYC). The challenge was to deliver immersive, on-site branding and wayfinding systems that felt elevated and memorable — while deviating from Verizon’s primary red/white aesthetic and aligning with the Verizon Access sub-brand identity. We also needed to extend impact beyond the festival grounds into the public realm (transit, MTA), in a way that felt seamless and compelling. I led creative direction and execution across a wide range of festival and out-of-home assets, ensuring the Verizon brand felt immersive, premium, and adaptable.

The Approach

We developed experiential graphics and brand assets that embraced bold scale and contextual relevance. On-site, we created barricades, banners, menus, placards, wristbands, swag, and immersive wall graphics to immerse festival goers into the Verizon brand universe. For external activation, we designed an MTA takeover at the train stop nearest to the Gov Ball venue, integrating Verizon Access’s visual style into transit ads, wraps, and wayfinding elements. Through consistent visual language and modular assets, we ensured brand continuity across festival zones and public touchpoints.

In addition to producing all designed assets for the festival grounds, we also designed a Verizon MTA Takeover for the train stop closest to The Gov Ball location. We utilized the Verizon Access visual style, which deviates from Verizon’s main red/white look and feel.

The Outcome

Verizon’s presence moved from sponsorship to immersive cultural participant, giving festival audiences a high-touch, memorable brand experience. The MTA activation expanded awareness beyond festivalgoers, turning everyday transit into an extension of the Verizon Access story. The result was a cohesive, bold presence that reinforced Verizon’s role at the center of music and culture.
